The next graduation fair will be announced by the University Bookstore in the near future. This is a great opportunity to
take care of all your graduation needs in one location. Information concerning commencement is available to those who have
applied for graduation on MyBGSU. Please visit the University Bookstore's web site for more information.
Attention Doctoral and MFA Creative Writing Students: The University has revised the process of charging the $65 microfilming fee for doctoral dissertations by UMI/Proquest, and
the $20 BGSU thesis binding fee. You must now deposit the applicable amount to your BG1 Card. Please check the BG1 Card tab
in MyBGSU or contact the BG1 Card Office directly for assistance. If funds are not available on your account at the time the microfilming
charge is processed, a hold will be placed on your record and your diploma and final, official transcripts will not be mailed
until this situation has been resolved.
If members of your family or friends require special seating, please contact the Office of the Vice President for Student
Affairs at 419-372-2147 or via email at: vpsa@bgsu.edu

*IMPORTANT POLICY CHANGE: Because of the increasingly high number of applications we are receiving and the processing time involved both for the Graduate
College and the Office of Registration and Records, applications submitted after the published deadline will not be accepted
unless accompanied by a departmentally-approved appeal outlining the compelling reasons why the application is being submitted after
the deadline. In addition, departmental certification is required that the student has, indeed, completed all degree requirements.

Requesting official BGSU transcripts: The Graduate College can no longer provide degree completion letters for students. For those students who require a transcript
relatively soon following the commencement ceremony, please download the transcript request form from the Registrar's web site. Be sure to check the box "Hold for Notification of Degree." Every effort will be made to clear students as soon as possible following the ceremony. However, due to the large number
of graduates, we cannot guarantee specific dates by which approval will be made.
Survey of Earned Doctorates (pdf): Doctoral candidates are strongly encouraged to complete the SED and submit it along with the ETD Approval/Submission
form. While completion of this survey is voluntary we encourage candidates to complete the form to ensure the University is
accurately represented in national statistics. However, if you do not wish to participate in this survey, you are required to write "REFUSED" in the Comments section on the back, sign and date the SED and return it to the Graduate College. For additional information
on the Survey of Earned Doctorates, please read the Privacy Policy and Information Brochure.
